The wedding of Chris and Ruth - Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, Lake district

A few weeks ago I had a really brilliant wedding to shoot down in the Lake District, Chris and Ruth are also known as top fudge makers Lakeland Fudge, I can't say enough good things about their fudge, I wasn't a big fan of fudge and now I can't get enough of the peanut butter flavour, as for the family, well they're pretty addicted to all of the flavours if I'm honest and they love to go down to the Quayside market on a Sunday for fresh supplies.

So anyway, enough of the fudgy talk and on to the story of their wedding.  Chris and Ruth married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Castle Green hotel in Kendal, wowza what a beautiful venue that is!

Their wedding was an intimate affair with only 22 guests, my favourite kind of wedding!

Ruth really was the most beautiful bride!

and Chris didn't scrub up too badly! haha

I love that everyone lined up on the lawn for the bride to make her entrance

After a lovely lunch we drove several miles to the locations Chris and Ruth had chosen for their portraits, this was in actuality a layby but with Chris and Ruth now standing on a wall, me standing on a wobbly stepladder and my assistant perched on a rock with the off camera flash we ended up with gorgeous portraits set against an amazing vista over beautiful lake Windemere

and then we moved to the bank of lake Windemere, another location picked out by Chris and Ruth, gosh I love the Lake District so much, I could shoot weddings there every weekend! 

and then it was back to the hotel for the evening reception

and then one of my favourite parts of the day thanks to my signature technique, first dance shots can be extra special!
