Mandy Charlton Photography is in the final for wedding photo of the year 2010
It's half past ten on a friday night and I've received the email telling me I've made it to the final 12 for wedding photo of the year 2010.
I'm so proud to have achieved this and thankful for everything that has brought me to this point and I want to say a big thank you to Andy and Rebecca who helped me to create this wonderful moment in time, I know her mummy will be utterly chuffed too, she was delighted when it made it to the final 50!!
So we're not quite there yet, I'm going to be happy that I've got this far but with just a few of your kind votes, who knows what might happen, so until Midnight on March 13th, vote but only if you love it.

Mandy Charlton Photography is shortlisted for Wedding Photo of the Year 2010 {wedding photographer newcastle, north east england}
I'm not one to enter competitions, I'm not usually brave enough but at the start of the year I decided I would enter a select few and didn't really expect to get anywhere so when I received an email on Friday telling me that from hundreds of photos one of mine had been put in the top 50 I was quite delighted as you can imagine.
So now I have the nervous wait until the top 12 are announced at the end of this week but to be honest I'm just delighted to have gotten this far and as you can imagine so is my bride and groom and also the brides mum!
So I bet you want to see the photo?
Well here it is from Andy and Rebeccas wedding shot in March 2010

A quick Friday round up
On Monday evening we went to the Hyena Cafe in Newcastle to the launch of an album by North East band My Other Life, these guys are superb, amazing melodic tunes and lead singer James has a voice which could melt chocolate, if you love Ben Folds you are going to love these guys, they are on You Tube, follow the link and then you can easily search for more of their stuff, anyone who knows me knows that musically i'm quite hard to please so I was delighted to discover My Other Life.
It's been another one of those weeks where everything has been, well just lovely really, on Tuesday I was delighted to be featured on the Love My Dress blog with my 1940's shoot. It's one of my favourite vintage blogs, brides if you are planning a vintage inspired wedding you can't find a better uk resource than this wonderful blog, you can feel how enthusiastic Annabel is about everything she writes.
On Wednesday I photographed another Dressing Up session, a lady who longed to be Cleopatra, I went down to the beach at Blyth, somewhere you wouldn't usually find Cleopatra and on a very cold windy day was delighted to get these images.

and yesterday I met two enthusiastic art students who were keen to get involved in the project and shot these images.
I am still very much looking for models to get involved, everyone who gets involved gets a 12x8 print as a thank you and an invite to the exhibition in the summer, if you want to take part give me a call at the number above or contact me through my website
