It's Saturday!

Indeed it is Saturday once again and atleast the postman should come today with my May issue of Creating Keepsakes, I do so love that magazine, my most favourite, although I did think that Scrapbook Answers was also pretty cool, I see that Scrapbook Answers also accept international submissions so that is a consideration for the future although what chance I have getting published with the talent thats in that mag, I'm not too sure. I'm still quite happy thinking of my LO which was in Mays Scrapbook Inspirations,my 3rd to be published therefore making me offcially famous in my sons eyes, I guess I should get my butt into gear and consider submitting some more as he said to me "now you have got to be more famous Mum" I just love that the kids have a genuine reason to be proud of me now. It's funny, I'm not the best mum in the world and I'm never going to achieve uber-greatness, I doubt I'll ever make it to Prime-minister, especially as some days it's a challenge just to get out of bed, so in being published I have achieved something, after all no one in my family has ever been in a magazine and I doubt i'm ever going to get into the pages of Hello or Ok. I'm not proilific when it comes to submitting either, I think in total I have offered up about 10 layouts for submission over the last 9 months, won "Our Favourite Layout" 1 was published in "Creative Scrapbooking" and then 1 was published in "Scrapbook Inspirations" the other 7 didn't make it but beleive me when you get into submitting it can be like that but I never get disheartened, after all it's just 1 persons opinions at the end of the day and as long as Paul and the kids love my pages then I am happy, being published is an honour and it's also as a result of a wonderful hobby, at the end of the day it never pays to get too serious about submissions, as long as you can look at your pages and you're happy with most of them then thats what is important. I truly admire those scrappers who have careers as designers as it must be so stressful at times always knowing that you have deadlines to meet and each page must be inspiring as don't we all have those pages which just frustrate us and we can never really put our fingers on why. Working on a design team has given me a taste of that although I find that it's a total joy as it's only once a month rather than constant, sometimes it can take me a week to get perfect photos, I imagine designers for magazine must get those occasional moments of "What on earth am I going to do for this project?" Or maybe they're just lucky and have millions of new ideas, well I wish they would pass a few my way for my scrappers block moments which can last for ut to a week!! Funny though it always seems to go away when I receive a new box of stash from my favourite internet store or go out shopping at my local scrapbooking shop.

In the end though I think I must have been born to scrap and I can;t quite think what I would be doing with myself in the evenings if I wasn't crafting and dragging my far too heavy artbin super satchel from out behind the chair to the table at the other side of the room, thats where I keep all the best goodies you see, maybe I'll get back in my teeny craft room in the summer or maybe I'll just keep making a big stash mountain behind the chair in the corner of the livingroom!!

Sorry to have rambled dear reader but often when you get me started on the subject of craft it's hard to shut me up again, I guess thats why I am now the proud co-owner of a little craft forum!!
